Hawks Deal Bruins Painful Loss
|
The Highwood Hawks got a stellar effort from pitcher Josh Terry, helping Highwood score a 2-1 win over the visiting Bellevue Bruins. Highwood reliever Kenny Hannah picked up the win to move to 1-3. Ron Mingo suffered the loss. The Hawks saw their record improve to 19-25.
Late in the game, pinch hitter Jorge Valenzuela had a big at-bat for Highwood. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Ron Mingo. The play gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead.
"There's no quit in this team," said Hawks manager Bill Callahan.
