Bruins Jolt Airmen with Late Rally
|
The Bellevue Bruins beat the Alameda Airmen, 6-3, at Bellevue Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Anson Darrah, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. After today's action, Bellevue sits at 24-13, while Alameda falls to 16-21.
Gil Andersen was the walk-off hero for Bellevue. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bruins shortstop hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Andersen said.
