Winston Rips Hogsmeade for 5 Hits
|
Brenton Winston put on a hitting clinic today as the Syracuse Storm dumped the Hogsmeade Cauldrons 9-5 at Gators Ballpark.
The Syracuse center fielder made Hogsmeade defenders earn their pay, lashing Hogsmeade pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Winston said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Brenton Winston singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Winston is hitting .308 this year with 1 home run and 13 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .377, 15 walks and scored 21 times.
