Seahawks Fall Short, 4-3, at Highwood
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Tom Bell, the Highwood Hawks defeated the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 4-3. Bell went 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Hawks. Josh Terry got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. The win gives Highwood a record of 10-7.
Highwood grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Bell, who is tied for 10th in the 3A in home runs with 2, hit a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Hawks out in front, 2-0.
"If we keep winning the close games," Bell said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
