Pinto Helps Dragoons Run Win Streak to 5
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from José Pinto, the Louisiana Dragoons defeated the Alameda Airmen, 13-5. Pinto was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Dragoons. Stanley Bruner got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 10 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Earning his 1st save of the year was Joe Fisher.

Pinto contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Louisiana in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 4-3, Pinto took a fastball from David Perkins and stroked the home run to right. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Dragoons to leap in front, 7-4.

"We maximized our offense today," said Louisiana skipper Santiago Vargas. "That makes everyone's life easier."

The defending champion Dragoons have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 7-7 with the win.
