Phoenix Hotspur played host to Reno at the friendly confines of Grenadiers Ballpark.
The Phoenix Hotspur Youth racked up a win at Grenadiers Ballpark, bumping off the Reno Silver Sox, 4-2. José Vélez, who started for Phoenix Hotspur, pitched effectively for his team. Jason MacDonald closed the game out for Phoenix Hotspur, earning his 9th save.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, pinch hitter Valerius Buser came through big-time for the Youth. With Phoenix Hotspur leading 1-0, he belted a 3-run home run.
Vélez told the Phoenix Hotspur Chronicle: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
Even with the win, the Youth have a dismal 33-66 record.
