Shooters Jolt Continentals with Late Rally

The Springfield Shooters took Chesapeake pitcher Ren-qing Weng's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Chesapeake Grounds. The final score had Springfield getting past the Continentals, 4-3. Weng went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 6. Springfield is now 41-49.
In the top of the 8th, catcher Bastiaan Pieterse gave Springfield the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Shooters had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out double off Chesapeake pitcher Francisco Torres changed that -- and Springfield went on to win.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Chesapeake manager Ismael González. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
