Silver Sox Topple Miners with Late Rally
|
The Reno Silver Sox topped the Marquette Miners, 2-1, in USPL Double A action at Marquette Stadium. The player of the game was Reno pitcher and Forest Hills, Tennessee native Dan Fletcher. The winning pitcher was Fletcher, now 1-1. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Reno.
Elijah Seymour's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a sinker from Félix Santiago for a 2-run double. It put Reno in front, 2-1.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Seymour told the Reno Today.
