Silver Sox Come Up Short at Springfield
Bastiaan Pieterse left his imprint on the 8-7 Springfield win against the Reno Silver Sox. Pieterse, who is tied for 6th in the PAA in doubles with 17, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Springfield reliever Otte Leuthold got the win, raising his record to 3-4. Raúl Valdéz was tagged with the loss. Springfield occupies 8th place in the Premier AA at 38-45.

Pieterse had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-2 curveball from Raúl Valdéz, he banged a bases-clearing double to center, giving the Shooters a 8-6 lead. It was the 17th double of the year for Pieterse.
