Sonics Roll to 8-3 Win Over Eclipse
|
With left fielder Kendrick Drumgoole leading the charge, the Atlantic City Sonics defeated the Northville Eclipse, 8-3, at Old-Timers Park. Drumgoole, who is tied for 10th in the PAA in triples with 3, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Atlantic City occupies 9th place in the Premier AA at 35-47.
Scotty Mitchell drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances for Atlantic City. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ricardo Fraga. It was his 23rd walk of the season.
Mitchell called the triumph "a good team win."
