Late Rally by Silver Sox Secures Win
The Reno Silver Sox faced a tough opponent in Northville pitcher Arturo Gramer, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Old-Timers Park by a final score of 4-1. Gramer went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Reno starter Jeff Merritt was credited with the win after throwing 97 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 6-6. Bob Christison converted his 10th save in 12 tries.

Jean Lechuga, who is tied for 5th in the PAA in hits with 81, aided the Reno cause with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the left fielder went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Lechuga said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The Silver Sox bumped their record to 37-36 with this latest triumph.
