The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Minnesota Loons, 4-2, in USPL Double A action at Loony Bin, with Mercer Island pitcher Pavle Simic named player of the game. Mercer Island is now 39-34.

Dennis Wacher had the most critical at-bat for Mercer Island. With one in the top of the tenth inning, Wacher hit a first pitch cutter from Quan Shiu for a run-scoring single. It put Mercer Island in front, 3-2.

"It's a mindset," said Simic. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
