Youth Clip Eclipse in Tight Contest
|
Northville got a terrific performance from pitcher Arturo Gramer, but it wasn't enough to beat the Phoenix Hotspur Youth. Phoenix Hotspur won the Grenadiers Ballpark contest, 3-2. Gramer was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. Even with the win, the Youth have a dismal 24-46 record.
Bill Poole was the walk-off hero for Phoenix Hotspur. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Youth designated hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"Exhilarating win," said Poole.
