Screaming Eagles Fall to .500 After Loss to Shooters
|
The Springfield Shooters defeated the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 6-1, in USPL Double A action at Springfield Stadium, with Springfield pitcher David Torres named player of the game. Torres got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Torres allowed no earned runs. With the win, Springfield has a record of 22-28. Mercer Island falls to 25-25.
The Shooters picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Torres.
