Eclipse, Fernández Blank Chesapeake

Today was Jesús Fernández's turn in the rotation for the Northville Eclipse and he made the most of it, shutting out the Chesapeake Continentals on 4 hits.
The 22-year-old right-hander led the Eclipse to an easy 13-0 victory, allowing 4 walks and tallying 5 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Chesapeake manager Ismael González said. "Fernández certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
So far this year Fernández has made 7 starts, tossed 53.1 innings, struck out 47 batters and walked 25. His record is 3-2 with a 4.05 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .215 batting average.
