Victory Pushes Screaming Eagles Record to 25-24
|
Mercer Island and Springfield got after it at Springfield Stadium.
Mercer Island rode a decent outing from starter Dave Hulton to victory over the Springfield Shooters at Springfield Stadium. The final score was 6-3. The winning pitcher was Hulton, now 2-3. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Tim Nesheim picked up the save for Mercer Island, his 4th of the year.
Oliver Burrell tagged a home run off Tod Whipple in the top of the fourth. His 3-run blast put the Screaming Eagles on top, 4-1. In all, Burrell had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We did a lot of things right," said Hulton.
The Screaming Eagles' win now puts them at 25-24.
