Shooters Fall Short, 6-5, at Lake Minnetonka

The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats overcame a good performance by Springfield shortstop Yu-shu Tseng to knock off Springfield, 6-5, at Heron Field. Tseng went 2-2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. Pancho Mastache nailed down his 10th save. Lake Minnetonka currently is in second place in the Premier AA at 22-16.
Had Mario van Heijbeeck not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, van Heijbeeck hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Love Boats.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Lake Minnetonka manager .
