Marquette played host to Chesapeake at the friendly confines of Marquette Stadium.

A 3-RBI performance from Brock Dean, who is tied for 10th in the PAA with a .500 slugging percentage, helped the Marquette Miners beat the Chesapeake Continentals, 7-2. Marquette reliever James Neutron got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jeff Enamorado was tagged with the loss.

Marquette took a 4-2 lead on Asko Riikonen's 31st hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Riikonen hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Chesapeake pitcher Jeff Enamorado shaking his head.

Dean called the win "a collective effort."

Marquette, at 19-18, occupies 5th place in the Premier AA.
