Sonics Win in Extras
|
The Northville Eclipse got a sterling performance from pitcher Arturo Gramer, but the Sonics still prevailed, 3-1. Gramer was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner was Atlantic City reliever Todd Howell, now 1-3. The loser was Xue-liang Li. Atlantic City has a 3-game win streak, while Northville has lost 3 in a row.
Eugene Harrison hit a run-scoring double off Xue-liang Li in the top of the 17th, which put the Sonics in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Harrison had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Atlantic City manager Manuel Hernández.
