Red-Hot Grimes Scorches Miners
Love Boats second baseman Frank Grimes had his way with Marquette pitching today at Heron Field and mauled them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Miners ruined his great day by toppling the Love Boats, 13-12.

"I had a great day, but you've got to give Marquette credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."

"Oh, we noticed what Grimes did today," Miners skipper Juan Sánchez said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."

Frank Grimes hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 8th and singled in the 10th.

This year Grimes has hit at a .326 clip with 28 RBIs, 5 home runs and 11 runs scored.
