Continentals Prevail, 4-2, Over Minnesota
|
Chesapeake Continentals starter Andrew Prieto turned in a top-notch performance against the Minnesota Loons at Chesapeake Grounds. The result was a win for the Continentals, 4-2. In 6.2 innings, Prieto surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Francisco Díaz was credited with the save for Chesapeake, his 2nd of the season.
The Continentals got a big at-bat from third baseman Jim MacRach. For the game, MacRach went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Chesapeake a 2-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Prieto, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Loons fall to 9-11 and continue their uneasy start to the 2033 season.
