Extra-Inning Win by Screaming Eagles over Miners
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles powered past the Marquette Miners, 11-8, at Marquette Stadium. Dennis Wacher was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5, to lead the charge. Mercer Island reliever José Sauls picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Shawn Stevenson absorbed the loss. The defending champion Screaming Eagles are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 6th win in 15 games.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Wacher delivered big-time for Mercer Island, stroking a dramatic 2-run double off Shawn Stevenson. The game-changing hit put the Screaming Eagles on top, 10-8.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Omer van Osch.
