Golden Cranes Continue Skid Thanks to Patel, Longnecks
|
Benedict Patel left his imprint on the 9-2 Bloomington win against the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. Patel, who is tied for 8th in the PAAA in hits with 104, was 4 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Bloomington starter David Torres was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Tomás Galván was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
In the top of the first, César Gómes hit a 3-run home run for Bloomington. The 8th home run of the season for the Bloomington left fielder put the Longnecks on top, 3-0.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Bloomington manager .
The Golden Cranes, at 51-49, have lost 6 straight games.
