Longnecks Come Back Late, Nip Hotspur Reserves
|
The Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 2-1, in USPL Triple A action at Thunderbirds Stadium, with Bloomington pitcher Tony DeWitt named player of the game. The save went to Anaías Pedroza, his 10th this season. The Longnecks saw their win-loss record go to 50-49. At the same time, the Hotspur Reserves fell to 44-55.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the eighth inning. Facing Phoenix hurler Ty McDaniel, Daniel Faraday drew a walk. The Longnecks went on to win.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Phoenix manager Alfred Roberts, "let me know."
