|
The Jersey City Tritons defeated the Bloomington Longnecks, 4-1, in USPL Triple A action at Jersey City Grounds, with Jersey City pitcher Iwane Chihara named player of the game. Chihara, now 7-11, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Jason Martin was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 4 save opportunities.
Rand McNally went 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI for Jersey City. The 26-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tomás Galván. It was his 49th RBI of the season.
"It feels good to get this one," McNally told the Jersey City Gazette.
The Tritons now have a mark of 36-52.
