Nobles Win Again, Extend Streak to 6
|
The Bakersfield Nobles grabbed a 4-1 win over the Bloomington Longnecks at Jerome Grounds. Bakersfield shortstop Dennis Wacher went 2 for 4 with a home run to earn player of the game honors. Bakersfield reliever Eugene Clarkston was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Gabriel Valenzuela took the loss for Bloomington. The second-place Nobles have won 6 consecutive games.
Fernando Luna chipped in for Bakersfield with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
