Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Supernovas
|
The Scranton Supernovas turned back the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 5-4, at Nuclear Stadium. Senior Pond was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Scranton reliever Phil Miles picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Domingo Posadas was saddled with the loss. Scranton, at 43-39, sits in 4th place in the Premier AAA.
Pond had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 0-2 curveball from Domingo Posadas, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Supernovas a 5-4 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Pond.
"I felt good up there," said Pond. "I saw the ball well."
