Starting pitcher Apollo Cepeda pitched well enough to help the Scranton Supernovas beat the Plymouth Rocks by the score of 5-3. Cepeda got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 7 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Cepeda allowed 3 earned runs. Malulani Anakone was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 10 save opportunities.
The Supernovas got a big at-bat from shortstop David Wooderson. For the game, Wooderson was 2-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 5th double of the season gave Scranton a 3-2 lead.
"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Cepeda.
Scranton is now riding a 3-game win streak.
