Nobles Win at Ellenburg, 5-3
|
The Bakersfield Nobles picked up a win at Dog Park in Ellenburg, knocking off the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 5-3. Starting pitcher Victor Lustig, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Lustig picked up the win for Bakersfield, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Rick Converse got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Bakersfield first baseman Terry Armstrong delivered a solo home run in the top of the eighth. Overall, he went 3 for 5, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 1.
