Hotspur Reserves Solve Nobles, 6-3
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves topped the Bakersfield Nobles by the score of 6-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman José Souza. Souza was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hotspur Reserves on the day. José Santiago picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-6. He struck out 4 in 7.2 innings. The Hotspur Reserves now have a mark of 29-38.
Souza had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the second, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Hotspur Reserves went on to win.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Souza told the Phoenix Citizen.
