The Plymouth Rocks faced a tough opponent in Santa Barbara pitcher Santiago López, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Crane Field by a final score of 5-4. López went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Kazu Shimada, who went 8 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 1-1. David Moore earned the save for Plymouth, his 20th of the year.
Xi-ku See-to had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the top of the ninth for the Rocks. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Plymouth trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run home run.
"It was a solid team effort," said See-to after the game.
At 42-20, the Rocks have a slim two-game lead in the Premier AAA.
