Supernovas Subdue Ellenburg, 6-4
|
The Scranton Supernovas bested the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 6-4, at Nuclear Stadium. Hai-feng Tang was named player of the game. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Tobías Pérez got the win, improving to 4-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The save went to Malulani Anakone, his 4th this season.
In the bottom of the 6th, right fielder Rafael Sánchez gave Scranton the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Supernovas had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out double off Ellenburg pitcher Gerald Bolton changed that -- and Scranton went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Sánchez told the Scranton Gazette.
Scranton, at 22-29, sits in 7th place in the Premier AAA.
