Supernovas Sneak Past Tritons, 5-4
|
Scranton catcher Brad Jacobson was a significant contributor in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Jersey City Tritons. He was 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Scranton. Scranton reliever Phil Miles picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chris Sommer was saddled with the loss. Scranton, at 15-18, occupies 6th place in the Premier AAA.
Pedro Rivera drove in one run for Scranton. The 31-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Francisco Torres. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"I felt good up there," said Jacobson. "I saw the ball well."
