Faraday Rips Ellenburg for 5 Hits
|
Longnecks center fielder Daniel Faraday had his way with Ellenburg pitching today at Lookouts Ballpark and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Fighting Dachsunds ruined his great day by toppling the Longnecks, 13-9.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give Ellenburg credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Faraday did today," Fighting Dachsunds skipper José Vázquez said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Daniel Faraday singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
Faraday is hitting .277 so far this season with 14 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 31 hits including no home runs, 9 walks and .336 OBP.
