|
The exploits of first baseman Chase Popoff, who is tied for 6th in the PAAA in extra base hits with 14, helped the Scranton Supernovas defeat the Jersey City Tritons, 5-2. Popoff was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jeff Schneider earned the save for Scranton, his 2nd of the year. The 'W' lifts Scranton's record to 14-18.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Popoff, who is tied for 6th in the PAAA in doubles with 8, hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Supernovas into the lead, 1-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Popoff told the Scranton Gazette.
