Longnecks Raise Rally Flag, Beat Ellenburg, 5-3
|
Ellenburg pitcher Rust Cohle gave the Longnecks all they could handle, but in the end, Bloomington left Lookouts Ballpark with a 5-3 win. Cohle allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits over 6.2 innings. Bloomington reliever Marcus Blakely was the winner. His record is now 3-3. Addick Lubbers took the loss. Bloomington is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Abiram Wahine drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Bloomington. In the bottom of the eighth, with the teams deadlocked, 3-3, Wahine delivered for the Longnecks. His run-scoring walk put Bloomington on top, 4-3.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bloomington manager .
