Cauldrons Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Hogsmeade Cauldrons did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at Seahwaks Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jung-min Ch'oe, who captured player of the game honors. In 8 innings, Ch'oe surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. David Aguilar closed the game out for Hogsmeade, earning his 1st save.
The Cauldrons got a big at-bat from catcher Manny López. For the game, López went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave Hogsmeade a 4-1 lead.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Cauldrons manager José Vázquez. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The Cauldrons are off to a tough start, getting just their 2nd win in 9 games.
