Yakima left fielder Juan Alcocer had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Salem Misfits, 9-5. Yakima reliever Miguel Padilla picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. William Fothergill took the loss. Yakima is now 47-37, Salem 38-46.

It could have been a different outcome for Yakima, had it not been for Frank Brinton, the speedster . Brinton contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Yakima up, 6-5.

"We maximized our offense today," said Yakima skipper Craig Walters. "That makes everyone's life easier."
