Polar Bears Topple Grasshoppers, 3-1
|
José Pacheco pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The San Bernardino Grasshoppers, despite Pacheco's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Billings Polar Bears at Field of the Grasshoppers. Billings reliever Selim Ferré was the winner. His record is now 1-3. The losing pitcher was José Pacheco. The Polar Bears now have a mark of 47-37.
Jorge Vélez did the little things right to help the team against the Grasshoppers. In the top of the first inning, he reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run, putting Billings in front, 1-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Vélez said after the game.
