Victory Pushes Thunder Hawks Record to 47-29
|
Ft. Polk South and Irving duked it out at Blue Sox Ballpark and the Thunder Hawks came out victorious.
Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks starter César Soto turned in a top-notch performance against the Irving Blue Sox at Blue Sox Ballpark. The result was a win for the Thunder Hawks, 4-1. In 7 innings, Soto surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Gunnar Hoglund converted his 1st save in 1 tries.
Qu-bing Thien aided the Ft. Polk South cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop went 1-3 with a hit by pitch.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Thien told reporters after the game.
Ft. Polk South improves to 47-29 with the win. They lead their division by 3½ games.
