Misfits Win at Ottawa, 3-1
|
The Salem Misfits went home winners at Nationals Park, thanks in large part to starter Stefan Famintsyn. Famintsyn silenced the Ottawa Nationals, enabling Salem to grab the 3-1 win. In 8 innings, Famintsyn surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Geunhye Kyoung was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 15 save opportunities.
Salem first baseman Gary Malone delivered a solo home run in the top of the sixth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 2.
