Nationals Come Up Short at Ft. Polk South
|
Fans who came to Thunder Hawks Ballpark watched the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and the Ottawa Nationals fight to the finish.
Ft. Polk South left-hander Brandon Franklin helped his team edge Ottawa by the score of 3-2. Franklin kept the opposing lineup in check. Tzu-hsia Ong was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, second baseman Aaron Dixon came through big-time for the Thunder Hawks. With Ft. Polk South leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Ottawa skipper John Hill, "and it cost us."
Ft. Polk South goes to 43-27. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
