Grasshoppers Cut Down Polar Bears, 5-4

The San Bernardino Grasshoppers did just enough to sneak past the Billings Polar Bears, 5-4, at The Igloo. San Bernardino pitcher Grover Lowdermilk earned player of the game honors. Lowdermilk got the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Lowdermilk allowed 2 earned runs. Sicnarf Loopstok got credit for the save for San Bernardino. It was his 6th of the year.
Weston Doyle, the 14 overall pick in the 2031 draft, aided the San Bernardino cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Grasshoppers manager Manny Cuellar. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
San Bernardino is now 23-35, while Billings is 32-26.
