Thunder Hawks Raise Rally Flag, Beat San Antonio, 5-4
|
San Antonio pitcher Clyde Pell gave the Thunder Hawks all they could handle, but in the end, Ft. Polk South left Thunder Hawks Ballpark with a 5-4 win. Pell allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings. The winner was Seong-hyeon Pak in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Liam Sorrell took the loss. The first-place Thunder Hawks have a one-game lead in their division.
The Thunder Hawks got a lift from first baseman Melvin Aikey who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning off Liam Sorrell. It was his 16th RBI of the season and put Ft. Polk South in front, 5-4.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ft. Polk South manager Mark Harrison.
