The Ottawa Nationals topped the Yakima Hops, 5-3, with youngster Ed Mellor playing a key role. Mellor was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Nationals in the win. Dong Zhào closed the door for Ottawa, picking up his 2nd save of the year. Ottawa is now 22-31.

Mellor had an important at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Nationals went on to win.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Mellor.
