Polar Bears Get Road Win, 6-3
|
The Billings Polar Bears picked up a win at San Antonio Field, knocking off the San Antonio BC, 6-3. Starting pitcher Wilson Longoria, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Longoria, now 4-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 3 earned runs. The win puts the Polar Bears at 26-19, while the BC drop to 19-26.
Robby Young, who is tied for 4th in the 3AA with a .917 OPS, chipped in for Billings with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Longoria told the Billings Herald.
