Misfits Come Up Short at Ft. Polk South
Ft. Polk South got a strong outing from Brandon Franklin as the Thunder Hawks defeated the Salem Misfits, 3-2, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Ft. Polk South reliever Kyle Overhill was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Gary Jordan took the loss for Salem. Earning his 2nd save for Ft. Polk South was Carlos González.

Juan Mata went 2 for 3 with a double for Ft. Polk South. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gary Jordan. It was his 8th RBI of the season.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Franklin.

The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Thunder Hawks.
