Irving turned a good effort from starter Jack Joyner into a win over the Billings Polar Bears at Blue Sox Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Cheung Lai closed the door for Irving, picking up his 5th save of the year. Irving, at 10-14, occupies 9th place in the Menard's AA.
Enrique Gómez, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA in doubles with 7, aided the Irving cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Joyner.
