Rapiers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Nationals
|
Fans who gathered at Nationals Park saw a good contest between the Durham Rapiers and Ottawa Nationals.
Durham starter Ramón Cerrillo pitched effectively against the Ottawa Nationals at Nationals Park. The left-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. The winner was Durham reliever Archie Erickson, now 2-2. The loser was Ron Burgundy.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 12th inning. With no one out, Mun-wah Law hit a 1-1 fastball from Ron Burgundy for a run-scoring single. It put Durham in front, 4-3.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Ottawa manager John Hill.
Durham currently is in 8th place in the Menard's AA at 10-13.
