Polar Bears Come Back Late to Top BC
|
The San Antonio BC got a superb performance from left fielder Esteban Borsellino, but the Billings Polar Bears still won the game, 4-3. Borsellino was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 3-5 with 3 singles. The winner was Billings reliever Fernando Ramírez, now 3-1. The loser was Pete Venegas. Martín García recorded the save for Billings, his 3rd of the season.
Jorge Vélez drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Billings. The 23-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Pete Venegas. It was his 9th walk of the season.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Billings manager Todd England.
Losses have been rare for the BC, who are now 11-4.
